Breda USA Shotgun Series
The Breda USA Shotgun Series will be the newest addition to our mulit-gun match lineup for the 2018! This shotgun series will consist of a minimum of 3 matches for this season: May 12th, August 11th and October 13th.
Matches will consist of 4-5 Stages. Round count should be around 100-125 bird shot and some slugs. Minimum shotgun gauge will be 20 gauge or larger, with #6 or smaller shot (lead shot only). We will be using mostly steel targets, but will utilize some paper targets for 1-2 stages per match (we probably won’t comingle the targets types to avoid confusion for these stages.
We will be using IPSC/USPSA type scoring for these matches. That means each stage will have a maximum point value. The winner for the stage will receive full points and the rest of the competitors will receive a percentage of those points based upon their performance compared to the stage winner.
Here are the shotgun divisions we will recognize at our matches:
Open – No limitations on accessories. Box-fed (AR-style) shotgun are permissible.
Tac Ops – Conventional tubular magazine fed shotguns. No electronic or optical sights, speed loaders, supporting devices, compensators or porting.
Pump – Conventional pump-fed, tubular magazine shotguns. No electronic or optical sights, speed loaders, supporting devices, compensators or porting.
We know that the shotgun isn’t for everybody. So, in an effort to make this match more accessible for more shooters we will also offer PCC and Pistol divisions. These divisions will not be considered for divisional awards at the end of the year:
PCC – No limitations on accessories for the carbine and supporting devices may be added/removed at any time.
Pistol – No limitations on accessories. Same as USPSA Open division equipment guidelines
At the end of the season, we will tally up the points for each shooter for all the series matches he/she has participated in. The shooter with the highest amount of points will be declared the winner.
Breda USA has provided us with one of their B12is shotguns. We will have the shotgun available for anyone to use at these matches. We recommend that you use 2 ¾”, 7.5 shot, 3 dram shot shell for this shotgun.
We will also be setting aside a portion of every match fee to build a cash prize pool for the top finishers; 3$ dollars for each match fee collected (comped match fees will not accumulate in the total prize pool). For every $50 that is set aside for a division, DSS will pay out 1 place. Here is what the cash prizes (per division) will look like:
· $50 collected in a division: 1st - $50
· $100 collected in a division: 1st - $65, 2nd - $35
· $150 collected in a division: 1st - $80, 2nd - $45, 3rd - $25
