North East Ohio 3-Gun Head-to-Head Shoot-Off
We are excited to announce that our first match last year as Dynamic Shoots Sports, LLC, The North-East Ohio 3-Gun Shoot-Off, will be back again this year! In case you are not familiar, this match is a head-to-head, triple-elimination, 3-gun shoot-off that awards cash prizes for the top finishers. We have made a bunch of 2019 Updates, including that we will be hosting the match this year at a larger venue, Sounthington Hunt Club in Garrettsville, Ohio.
Here’s how things work:
All shooters shoot a short “Seeding” Stage first thing in the morning once they have completed registration. United Multi-gun League rules are used to score this stage. These scores then determine the seeds for the Stage 1 Bracket. We will post the results of the Seeding Stage on Practiscore. 2019 Update: We will have 2 seeding stages setup that are identical; target placements will be measured out to make sure that everything is the same (think USPSA classifier). This will cut down the seeding stage time in half for this event.
After the Seeding Stage, the Match Director will make some announcements and answer any questions regarding the format and rules for the head-to-head portion of the match. Once that is finished, all competitors will head to the first stage to start the head-to-head competition. The stages for the event from last year are pictured on this page.
When a competitor wins a head-to-head match, they will remain at that stage and continue to shoot in that bracket. When a competitor loses, they will move to the next stage until they have lost 3 times: losers from Stage 1 will go to Stage 2, losers from Stage 2 will go to Stage 3, and losers from Stage 3 will be done shooting for the day.
Once the final 5 shooters have been determined, those competitors will head back to the first stage for a “ best-of-3”, “ladder-style” competition to determine the winner and final places.
All competitors will shoot at least 4 stages. However, most shooters will shoot many more stages that that. Please take some time to review the brackets for the Shoot-Off from last year. You will see that you will want to make sure to bring enough ammunition!
2019 Update: Our main field will be Tactical Optic/Limited, but we will also offer divisions for Open & Ladies TacOps/Lim provided that we have 8 competitors in order to field a competitive and fun bracket. United Multi-gun League rules will be used for equipment specifications. .
Registration will go public on Practiscore on Friday, October 5th at 6:00PM EST. We will have a link to registration HERE once it is live and we will make an announcement on our Facebook page.
Cost for the match will be $40 per shooter. Due to the nature of this event, you must pay online to secure your spot for the match. There are only 32 slots for the main division of the match and 8 for the Open and Ladies Divisions. As payments are made, we will approve the shooters on a “first come, first served” basis. We will also take a short wait list for this event. Refunds will be given in-full if the withdraw request is made by Saturday, November 10th, 2018.
Scott Beebe, owner of Dynamic Shooting Sports, LLC, will be the Match Director and will not be shooting in the match. We will be needing some volunteers to assist with this match as Range Officers. There is no set-up or tear-down help required. We just need help as Range Officers and directing competitors through the match. 2019 Update: RO’s will be shooting as part of the main match this year and not in a separate bracket. RO’s will only pay $30 for their match fee. If you are interested in assisting, please complete a Contact form for us.
We will pay out the top 5 places for the main match: 1st place - $200, 2nd place - $125, 3rd place - $75, 4th place for $50, and 5th place -$40. For the Open and Ladies Divisions we will pay out $75 for 1st place and $40 for 2nd place.
Disclaimers - All competitors, volunteers and spectators will be required to sign a release of liability in order to attend the match. Dynamic Shooting Sports, LLC reserves the right to make adjustments and/or changes to the format, participation and/or payouts at their sole discretion.
