This class will be held in Bays 2 & 3. Remaining bays will be available for Season Pass holders to use.

If you are looking to get started in the practical shooting world, this class is a great place to start!

Here is what we will be covering:

Overview of the various types of handgun competitions that are offered at DSS and throughout our region: USPSA, Defensive Pistol (IDPA), Steel Challenge & Dynamic Steel.

Equipment Requirements for different divisions.

Review of Safety Procedures.

Introduction to the Range Commands and Range Officer Procedures.

Explain the various Rules and Scoring Methods that are used in each type of competition.

We will have a couple of stages setup for demonstration. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take a turn on the stages. Attendees should bring a .22 or 9mm handgun, at least 50 round of ammunition, 3 magazines and an outside the waistband holster.

If the attendee doesn't have any or all of this equipment and would still like to participate, Dynamic Shooting Sports will have some various firearms that can used. You would still need to bring at least 50 rounds of 9mm in order to use our equipment.

The cost for the class will be $15, payable at the time of the class. Space at the class will be limited. Attendees must pre-register for the class on Practiscore:

One note: For the purpose of this class, please do not purchase any new equipment. We would like make sure you are purchasing the correct type of equipment that will work for the sport and division that you will be competing in. We spend a significant amount of time during the class answering questions about equipment.
