Garrett is our 2018 Dynamic Shooting Sports, LLC Junior Shooter Scholarship recipient and honorary Team DSS member. Garrett’s success in 2017 culminated with being the High Junior at 3 GN Nationals and winning the 3GN Junior Shoot-Off Championship. However, it is Garrett’s respect for others, his humility, and his willingness to help others that has earned him this scholarship. We are certainly proud of his shooting, but we are even prouder of the support that Garrett shows other new shooters and organizations that work with junior shooters.
Here is what Garrett has put together for his own bio:
"I am 16 years old and live in Sanford, NC with my mom, dad, brother and 2 dogs. I am home-schooled with my brother and in the 10th grade. Besides shooting, I am a 3rd degree, level 4 Black Belt in Taekwondo and have been training for 8 years. I recently became a certified Taekwondo instructor for our TKD school. I train and instruct for 4-6 hours a week. In my spare time, I like to research military history especially WWII. I enjoy researching historical firearms and the stories that come with them. I like the outdoors, camping, and hunting as well.
I have been shooting competitively for 3 years and currently shoot a Benelli M2, STI Edge 9mm and Radian Weapons AR-15. The shotgun is one of my favorite firearms. I dry fire every week loading shotgun and practice with SIRT and airsoft pistols around the house. I am currently the Junior shooter for Team Benelli. I want to be a positive role model while becoming the top rated Junior shooter and eventually earning a position at the AMU. This year I was able to work with a small group of junior shooters in our area and will continue to work with this group of junior shooters for the 2018 year."
